About Christa Cardwell

Christa moved to Boston from Farmington, Connecticut in 1987 to attend Northeastern University. She immediately fell in love with the city’s gorgeous historic architecture, the cobblestone streets, and the small-town village feel that flows throughout each neighborhood.

As her eye for design evolved, Christa was initially drawn to careers that focused on print and interior design, and in 2005, she took a position in Gibson’s marketing department as the property photographer and graphic designer. While taking photos and writing about the company’s exclusive listings, she developed the ability to hone in on each property’s unique characteristics in a way that appeals to both buyers and sellers. It is a craft she has perfected and now applies to her own real estate practice; by taking the time to fully understand the most positive selling points of every home she markets.

Staying true to her love of interior design, Christa formed a partnership with fellow agent Joshua Trinh in 2018, and together they founded Pretty City Boston LLC. Born out of pure necessity (and a lack of enthusiasm for the home staging services available), Pretty City Boston began staging their own listings with a property specific approach, resulting in beautiful finished projects that look nothing at all like the typical staging we see everywhere. The results speak for themselves, close to 100% of Christa and Josh’s staged listings sell for over asking prices and in record time, with several of their staging clients hiring them to design their new homes.

Both buyers and sellers benefit greatly from Christa’s extensive knowledge of the Boston Metro neighborhoods and each of their unique markets. Her superior eye for detail, and her long-standing relationships with fellow agents, home improvement specialists, attorneys, and lenders make her a leader in the industry. Her strong work ethic, sharp problem-solving techniques, and expert negotiation skills have earned her the trust, respect, and referrals of many satisfied clients, as well as the honor of being chosen as one of Gibson Sotheby’s most respected mentors. People who work with Christa often comment that in addition to her business acumen, integrity, and professionalism, it is her affable nature and genuine humor that keep each step of a sometimes-stressful process continuously pleasant. A self-proclaimed “real estate geek”, Christa thinks of little else than serving her clients. Remarkably responsive, she is available to discuss and/or advise on up-to-the-minute market data most hours of the day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

In order to best serve her clients, Christa participates in ongoing education, staying current in changing laws, market trends, real estate technology, and client privacy and protection. In addition to passing the Massachusetts Salesperson exam in 2007, Christa is now a licensed Massachusetts Broker, a member of the National Association of Realtors, the Massachusetts Association of Realtors, the Greater Boston Board of Realtors, and the Buyer’s Agent Council (REBAC). She also holds the Accredited Buyer Representative designation, as well as the Resort and Second Property Specialist designation. She is a member and supporter of the South End Historical Society, Boston Center for the Arts, Ellis Early Learning and WBUR, Boston’s NPR Radio Station.
